After three decades of stages,
studios and sweaty dancefloors, kalles kaviar return with "Nine
feet tall" - a bold step back to where it all began. One of
switzerland’s longest-running ska outfits, born out of the 1990s
third wave movement, now deliver their ninth studio album with a
renewed focus on raw groove and vintage feel.
This time around, the basel crew
teamed up with producer jay schaetz, left the clean edges behind
and embraced a deeper, heavier sound inspired by 1960s jamaican
ska, rocksteady and early reggae. From upbeat, floor-filling ska
shuffles to slow-burning rocksteady moods and driving early reggae
cuts, nine feet tall moves with confidence and character
throughout.
This record is a testament to
longevity, passion and staying true to the rhythm. Drop the needle
