early 60ies, the independent time of Jamaica! - Featured are five
of Skatalites original instrumentals and four solo outings by the
associated band members Don Drummond, Roland Alphonso and Baba
Brooks. Additionally the Skatalites (aka Randy's All Stars) are the
backing band for finest tunes by the singers Alton Ellis, Basil
Gabbidon, the vocal duos of John & Alton (aka John Holt &
Alton Ellis), Ken & Stranger (aka Ken Boothe & Stranger
Cole) and the trio of The Maytals.
